Autumn 2024 (1. semester)

Spring 2025 (2. semester)

The English One Year Programme consists of two courses:

Language and Litterature in the English-speaking world (autumn term)

Language, Text and Culture in the English-speaking world (spring term)

The program emphasizes active student participation with varied learning activities, and opportunities to practice and improve a wide range of English skills. Classes will be delivered online, mostly asynchronously but with regular live meetings, this to encourage both independence and also being part of a community.

The Online One-Year Program also features the opportunity for in-person engagement with other Nord University English students and instructors, and for hands-on exploration of English society and culture, during a one-week study trip to the Norwegian Study Centre, York, UK. An alternative assignment is provided for students who desire a purely online program or who cannot attend the trip for other reasons.

The program consists of two 30-credit courses; within these are a series of smaller modules that target specific areas of the subject. These modules are taught by specialists in their fields, thus ensuring in-depth learning, alignment between learning goals and activities, and careful follow-up.
