The one year program in economics and management focuses on business administration, methodology and other subjects.
The study is a campus based full-time study with regular lectures. All topics have their own online learning platforms on the internet. Learning and working methods will be based on research, as well as a practice orientation.
This varies from topic to topic and is given in the form of lectures, colloquia, assignments and practical exercises. It is often arranged for teamwork that promotes training in communication and collaboration.
For those with a previous education, the year's program is a useful supplementary education and competence development. The program is also suitable for applicants who wish to take a shorter course in business economics than a three-year bachelor program.
The program constitutes the first year of the Bachelor's program in economy, digitalization and businessdevelopment, which has been established in accordance with the recommendation of the UHR-ØA (National Council for Economic Administrative Education), where an economic-administrative education should comprise at least the four areas of business administration, socioeconomics, administration and methodology.
The one year program will give the candidates a solid understanding of markets and organizations as well as develop their ability to reflect on basic questions and values. In addition, topics in mathematics, statistics, business economics analysis - and financial accounting. The first year of study is common with the bachelor program in economy, digitalization and businessdevelopment.
After completing the annual studies you can apply for a transition to the mentioned bachelor program. The admission requirement is that 6 out of 8 subjects are passed.
Parts of the instruction will assume that the candidate has access to a computer or tablet that enables the use of relevant software.
Knowledge

- Have knowledge of central topics, theories, issues, tools, and methods within business economics, administrative subjects, and methodological subjects.

- Be aware of research and development work within various business economics fields.
- Have knowledge of the history and traditions within economics and management.
- Have knowledge of digitalization and the structure, functioning, and application of information systems in a national and global perspective.

The candidate should:
- Be able to apply professional knowledge to practical and theoretical issues and explain their choices.
- Be able to find, evaluate, and refer to information and academic material and present it in a way that illuminates an issue.
- Be able to master relevant professional tools, techniques, and forms of expression.
- Be able to use ICT to solve various professional issues with relevant software.
General Competence
The candidate should:
- Have insight into relevant professional and ethical issues.
- Be able to present central academic material such as theories, issues, and solutions in writing.
